Dream Weaving

A way of seeing. A way of living. Thread by thread, we follow the dream.

How I found the work

I fell into the work of dreams.

I fell into the work of dreams when I decided I wanted to learn how to weave on a loom. There was something calling to me about using my hands in a traditional practice that has been used for centuries.

This was a challenging experience, and I met aspects of self that had been hidden. It became an invitation. I followed the next breadcrumb and dropped deeper into the art of mirroring, for myself and with another. This then led me to the world of my dreams. So vast and rich.

Paying attention to your dreams will inform your waking life, and your waking life informs your dreams. It is a weaving in many ways. Dreamwork is more than interpretation or analysis; it is a way of seeing, and a way of living.

The more you work with your dreams and your unconscious, and honor it, the more you understand it and it understands you.

The Loom

Offerings from the loom

If you desire to work with your dreams thread by thread, these are some of the places we might begin.

I

Dream recall

Strengthen the bridge between sleeping and waking so the dream stays close enough to meet.

II

Dream journaling

Capture the images, feelings, places, and fragments before the night loosens its hold.

III

Dream mapping

Trace recurring symbols, emotional weather, and inner landscapes across time.

IV

Dream intentions

Invite the dream into conversation with the questions and thresholds of waking life.

V

Somatic support

Listen for what the body knows as images, sensations, nature, and intuition begin to speak.

VI

Hypnagogic awareness

Explore the liminal place between dream and waking, spirit and matter, self and other.

VII

Being with nightmares

Meet frightening dream material with care, including Image Rehearsal Therapy when helpful.

VIII

Somatic dreaming parts

Follow dream discovery through the body so insight is felt, not only understood.

Dreamlike collage with stars, a crescent moon, butterflies, and a dark bird.

An invitation

A relationship with the psyche begins to move into life and relationships.

Dreamwork is paramount for my mental, physical, and spiritual health, and I have come to believe it can be the same for the people I walk alongside. Like counseling, this work is collaborative. You are the expert in your own story; your dreams will let us know the way.

I approach this with the same holistic perspective I bring to all of my work, mindful of the body, the mind, spirituality, and relational context. It is never too late to begin.

The patterning of our work

What a session looks like

If we are currently working together, we can bring dreamwork into the work we already share.

If you want to work specifically in the realm of dreams, we will create the consistency and patterning of our work together. Your dreams will let us know the rhythm.
